  59. Algebra Drills is a series of randomly
  60. generated exercises designed to 
  61. challenge a student's knowledge in
  62. 22 areas of algebra.

  64. The program is intended for algebra
  65. students on the secondary and
  66. postsecondary levels. Exercises range
  67. from basic number properties to
  68. advanced trigonometric functions.

  71. Making a Backup Diskette~
  72. ------------------------
  73.  
  74. It is important to make a backup copy
  75. of your Algebra Drills diskette in
  76. case your original diskette is lost or
  77. damaged.  If necessary, refer to your
  78. Disk Operating System (DOS) book for
  79. information about using the DISKCOPY
  80. command.

  82. Store the original diskette in a safe
  83. place and use the backup copy to run
  84. the program.

  90. Installing on a Fixed Disk~
  91. --------------------------
  92.  
  93. Follow the steps below to install the
  94. Algebra Drills program on your fixed
  95. disk:
  96.  
  97. 1.  Create an Algebra Drills
  98.     subdirectory on your fixed disk.
  99.     You might want to name it ALGEBRA
  100.     or something similar.
  101.  
  102. 2.  Insert your Algebra Drills
  103.     diskette in drive A and enter: A:
  104.  
  105. 3.  At the DOS prompt A>, enter:
  106.  
  107.        copy: a:*.* c:\algebra
  108.  
  109.     where ALGEBRA represents your
  110.     Algebra Drills subdirectory.

  235. Selecting a Drill~

  238. Follow these steps to select a drill:
  239.  
  240. 1.  Select a topic from the Main Menu
  241.     by pressing the number next to the
  242.     topic you want to practice.
  243.  
  244.     A second menu appears, called the
  245.     Drills Menu.  This menu displays
  246.     the list of drills for the topic
  247.     you selected.
  248.  
  249. 2.  Select one of the drills on the
  250.     Drills Menu by pressing the number
  251.     next to the drill.
  252.  
  253. 3.  Press Enter to start the drill.
  254.  
  255.  
  256. Answering Questions~
  257. -------------------

  259. Questions are in two formats:
  260. multiple choice and short answer.
  261.  
  262. Multiple choice questions provide four
  263. answers from which you can choose.
  264. The screen displays:

  266.     Enter your answer (1-4): [ ]
  267.  
  268. Type the number of the answer you think
  269. is correct.
  270.  
  271. Then, press Enter to continue.

  273. Short answer questions do not provide
  274. a list of answers.  You must enter the
  275. answer to each question. You might
  276. want to work out each question on
  277. paper.  When you have an answer, type
  278. it after the prompt:
